Silkroad

Hello people of the MMO community! I will talk today about the MMORPG Silkroad. This game was released on 11 November 2005 by Joymax.

My First impression was that it has some excelent classes and grahpics weren't all that bad for a free game. So before playing i started with a positive idea of the game.

My positive idea of the game later got crushed. Before actually playing it was a real drag even getting into the game. I found out you actually needed a bot so the game wouldn't close down when you didn't get into the game. With the not getting in problem not the whole game was ruined. I stayed postitive and thought,If so many people play it, the game must be great. This was to my dissapointment not the case. I couln't get in cause the server was full, not with players, but with botters and goldsellers.Later the game built in that the game doesn't close down automatticly if you don't get in. But it still takes a while to get in.

When you actually get in the game, you have to create a character.First you have to choose between the chinees side and the European Side.Both have their own classes. Wich brings me to an positive side of the game. The Classes are made excelently. Their are many classes to choose from.

Chinees and European both start in their own city. The starter quests are some basics to learn the game. Where are the weapon sellers, potion sellers, armor sellers etc. After that you are let loss. You have to search for the quests yourself. The quests are showing on the mini map so it shouldn't be that hard.

Ofcourse it wouldn't be hard, if they had a better walking system. How i were annoyed by the controlls. It is almost impossible to walk with the arrows cause you will get stuck behind every tree or statue. This forces you to use the mouse to walk, wich was in my eyes not a good way of walking.

The quests in the game are all the same, Kill ** of this monster or collect ** of that from this monster. They are fun to maybe do a few times but after a while you get really bored of them. Because the quests are all the same you feel like you are doing the same thing over and over agian.

The game doesn't have a great community either in the beginning. This is because everyone you will see, will be a botter.

There is another pretty cool aspect on the game. On level 20 you get to choose between Merchant, Hunter and Thief.This is what almost the whole game is based on. A merchant carries the stuff to a certain point, the hunter protects him,and a thief tries to kill the merchant. This is a great aspect in my opinion.

It really wasn't a game for me. The idea is ok for the game but the positive aspects it has don't make up for the drag it isto get in the game. Also the way of walking was just horrible wich makes it harder to enjoy the few positve things the game shows.

I give it a weak 20% "the negative points truely overrun the few positive things"

Hello people of the MMO community! Today I will talk about a game that could use some reviews on some of the big sites to maybe pick up some players, the game is newly released by the indie company Kweh! Entertainment!.

The first impression of the game is: "This must be one of the worst games of history". But after a while of playing I think I can convince some of you to have another opinion.

The graphic in this game is really crappy, it's 2D(which is not always a bad thing) and the graphic is not unique. The graphics come from RPGmaker XP that some of you might be familiar to, however this is not the engine that built this game. When you start play you are on this small island which we can see as the noob island, you run around and kill monsters and you have a quest that says you should find a way of the island.

As you travel through the island you will find some items that are really cool starting weapons, when you equip them it looks like crap, but again graphics isn't everything. After a while you find the way of this island(no I will not tell you how :P) and come tho a pretty big town, here you can run around and check stores, you see pretty quickly that you cannot afford anything for a while. So you return to the ruthless monster killing.

Now what I really like in this game is when you find out about the crafting, the system is so awesome and fun, there is 4 stages in the 3 skills(Swimming, blacksmithing and fishing). This is also when you find how this games economy works, you get a lot of money and items from crafting, so you can't really skip it and just kill monster which gives the game a fun variety.

Another good thing about this game is the community, it is one of the best communitys ever! I LOVE IT!

Some other cool features: Bounties, you can put bounties on other players heads and the price will stack until he is killed. Marriage, you can marry other players so you get the same exp even if you are not close to each other.

Project Torque - The ultimate online racing experience!

Hello and welcome to MMORPG chitchat! Today I will review one of my current favourite games, project torque.

The game is a Racing MMO that will take the level of realism in MMO games to another level, the game is very realistic! There is loads of racing modes to go through such as normal racing, drift and even capture the flag! I personally like normal racing the most, because I find more action and fast paced gaming in that mode.

This game is also the only good game aeriagames is hosting(imo), the creators very much succeed to create a game that is worth playing for a while. And if you get bored with racing you can always go and finish some missions in the career or do other mini-game challenges.

It really feels like they tried to copy Gran Turismo in some degree, the upgrades you can buy from the cars are pretty much the same. It really feels good that you have to gain exp in order to upgrade your car, but even if you need exp you will never be able to reach the limit in upgrades unless you pay real money for the upgrades.

And the graphics might not be next gen, but it is definitely this generation, overall very good.

I can find some bad things about this game actually, for example you get to much advantage when you buy points, I hate this in games. You could also wish for the physics would be better, and the lag less severe.



I rate this game 85% - "A good MMO that reflects the better aspects of a racing game"
